Country stars shine at Libby's 1st Annual Big Sky Bash

Country artists The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Copper Mountain Band from nearby Troy headlined at this past Saturday's 1st Annual Big Sky Bash to raise money for the CARD Foundation (Center for Asbestos Related Disease) in Libby, Montana.

CARD is an asbestos-related diseases clinic, whose primary aim is to provide free medical care for Libby residents who suffer from mesothelioma, asbestosis, and other asbestos diseases.

Representatives for CARD told KBZK in Bozeman that the support for this fundraiser has been overwhelming, and they plan to make it an annual event. Organizers say they sold about 2,500 tickets at Saturday's event.

Betty Jo Wood, development officer for CARD, described the fundraising concert as a win-win situation for the clinic: "It's really exciting for us to be able to bring a real positive thing from CARD and bring people in from out of town and educate them about what we do. It's just a win-win."

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (video above) headlined, and Copper Mountain Band (video below, doing an awesome version of "Hurts So Good") opened and closed the show.

After watching the videos, my mind is made up: next year, I'm going to Libby for the 2nd Annual Big Sky Bash. Who's up for a road trip?
